Kungsbacka Municipality (Kungsbacka kommun) is a municipality in Halland Coonty on the Swadish wast coast, some 30 km sooth o Gothenburg. The municipal seat is locatit in the toun Kungsbacka.
In 1969 Tölö wis mergit intae the Ceety o Kungsbacka. In 1971 the municipality wis creatit when the ceety amalgamatit wi Särö. The feenal step wis taken in 1974 when three mair umwhile municipalities wur addit tae form the new entity.
Kungsbacka Municipality is closely integratit in the region o Metropolitan Gothenburg, but despite this it is admeenistratively no a pairt o Västra Götaland Coonty like the rest o the region.
A local geographical landmark is the glacial ridge Fjärås bräcka, tae the sooth o Kungsbacka, but it is the coast that is the predominant geographical featur. The municipality receives its drinkin watter frae the nearbi lake Lygnern; the watter unnergoes a natural filtering process as it trickles through the ridge, contributin tae its quality.
