KOBUS! (an aa spelled K.O.B.U.S!) is an Afrikaans hivy metal baund formed in 2000 bi ex-Springbok Nude Girls guitarist Theo Crous an ex-Voice of Destruction vocalist Francois Breytenbach Blom. They performed as a duo till 2004 when they wur joined bi Rob Nel on bass an Paul André Blom on drums.
In 2007 Rob Nel wis replaced on bass bi Pierre Tredoux an in 2008 drummer Paul Andre Blom wis replaced bi Werner Von Waltsleben.
The baund haes released three albums: The sel-titled debut kobus! in 2002, 100% Skuldgevoelvry in 2004, an Swaar Metaal in 2007. The first twa releases contained an eclectic mix o styles, crossin genres frae track tae track. The album Swaar Metaal, which wan the 'Best Afrikaans Rock Album' award at the 2008 Sooth African Muisic Awards, is sonically mair uniform than its predecessors, an Afrikaans-leid hivy metal album, regardit as a first in Afrikaans muisic.[1]

Hoenderman
Hoenderman (Chickenman) is ane o the baund's best kent sangs. The sang narrative tells aboot a nicht when "Kobus" wakes up an finds a "chickenman" at the fuit o his bed. He affers the chickenman a beer, but the chickenman scratches his floor, drinks aw o Kobus' beer an makes lood chicken noises. The chickenman then leaves, an the next nicht, brings his whole family.
