The Karachay-Balkar leid (Къарачай-Малкъар тил, Qaraçay-Malqar til or Таулу тил, Tawlu til) is a Turkic leid spoken bi the Karachays an Balkars. It is dividit intae twa dialects: Karachay-Baksan-Chegem, which pronoonces twa phonemes as /tʃ/ an /dʒ/, an Balkar, which pronoonces the correspondin phonemes as /ts/ an /z/. The modren Karachay-Balkar written leid is based on the Karachay-Baksan-Chegem dialect.
