Ionian Islands (Greek: Περιφέρεια Ιονίων Νήσων) is ane o the thirteen regions o Greece. It comprises the historical region o the Ionian Islands, except for the island o Kythera which belangs tae Attica.

The region wis established in the 1987 admeenistrative reform, comprisin the prefecturs o Corfu, Kefalonia an Ithaca, Lefkada an Zakynthos.

The region is based at Corfu an is dividit intae 5 regional units:[1]
The region's govrenor is, syne 1 Januar 2011, Spyros Spyrou, who wis electit in the November 2010 local admeenistration elections for the New Democracy pairty.
