Guanajay is a toun an municipality in Artemisa Province in wastren Cuba, locatit aboot 36 miles (58 km) soothwast o Havana. The toun lees amang hills an haes an excellent climate; in colonial times it wis an acclimatization station for newly-arrivit truips frae Spain. It later became well kent as a health resort. It wis foondit in 1650. It wis pairt o the province o Pinar del Río till efter the Cuban Revolution.
