Grästorp Municipality (Grästorps kommun) is a municipality in Västra Götaland Coonty in wastren Swaden. Its seat is locatit in the toun o Grästorp.
Grästorp Municipality is located richt in the middle o Västra Götaland Coonty, bi the shores o Lake Vänern.
In the year 1900 the veelage Grästorp wis detached frae Tengene an made a mercat toun (köping). The local govrenment reform o 1952 amalgamatit it wi twal surroondin municipalities (amang them Tengene). The 1971 reform made the term köping obsolete, thus formin Grästorps kommun athoot amendment o territory.
The aurie haes been inhabitit at least syne the Viking Age as it contains several runestanes. Tae the left a stane bi the kirk at Sal. The inscription reads "Torgård satte denna sten efter Toke, sin frände", meanin "Torgård raised this stane for Toke, his friend".
