Ford Model C Ten
The Ford Model C Ten wis a caur frae Ford built in the Unitit Kinrick between 1934 an 1937. The caur wis also assembled in Spain (Barcelona) between 1934 an 1936. The German version produced in the same period wis named the Ford Eifel.
The caur uised an enlarged version o the side valve engine fitted tae the Ford Model Y that wis increased tae a capacity o 1172 cc bi increasing the bore frae 56.6 mm tae 63.5 mm but keepin the stroke at 92.5 mm. A standard engine woud produce 30 bhp at 4000 rpm. This engine became a favourite for mony engine tuners in post war days an gave a start tae several sports caur makers including Lotus Caurs an remained in production until 1962. Suspension wis bi the Ford system o transverse leaf springs wi rigid axles front an rear, a system little changed since the Model T. A three speed gearbox wis fitted.
A fower seat tourer, now much sought efter, joined the saloons in mid 1935 an a de-luxe version, the CX, wi chromium plated trim wis available frae late 1935 tae early 1937.
The caur coud reach 70 mph (110 km/h) an return 35 mi tae an (Imperial) gallon.
