Fastiv
Fastiv (Ukrainian: Фастів Fastiv, Roushie: Фастов Fastov) is a ceety locatit in the Kiev Oblast (province) in central Ukraine. Servin as the admeenistrative center o the Fastivskyi Raion (destrict), the ceety itself is an aa designatit as a separate raion athin the oblast. The current estimatit population is aroond 50,500 (as o 2004).
Lyin on a conjunction o railway lines, Fastiv is an important station on the rail route frae central Europe tae Roushie an Asie. Brewin an machinery industry is also present, although the majority o inhabitants ar employed bi "Ukrzaliznytsia" railway company.
Fastiv is a historical ceety that survived through Cossack wars (incl. the period o total devastation an later resettlement). Landmarks o those times include Pokrovska Tserkva (17t century Orthodox kirk named efter Cossack leader Semen Paliy) an a Catholic Kirk (early 20t century).
