Emilíana Torrini Davíðsdóttir (born 16 Mey 1977) is an Icelandic sangster, best kent for her 2009 single "Jungle Drum" o the 2009 record 'Me and Armini', 1999 album Love in the Time of Science an for performin "Gollum's Song" for Peter Jackson's film The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.

Torrini grew up in Kópavogur, whaur, at the age o seiven, she jynt a choir as a soprano, till she went tae opera schuil at the age o 15. Her faither is Italian an her mither is Icelandic. Acause o name regulations in Iceland at the time, her faither Salvatore Torrini haed tae chynge his name tae "Davíð Eiríksson", which implee'd that Torrini haed tae uise the surname efter her faither in the tradeetional wey; "Emilíana Torrini Davíðsdóttir". A few years later, the name regulations wur chyngit,[1] an she wis again alloued tae uise her oreeginal surname.[2][3]

Torrini grew up wi her parents in Iceland. Her faither awned an operatit a well-kent Italian restaurant in Iceland (Italia, locatit in Reykjavík). Efter bein discovered singin in a restaurant in Iceland bi Derek Birkett, the awner o Ane Little Indian Records, he subsequently askit her ower tae Lunnon tae write a record. Torrini decidit tae stay an live thare. She haes a son, who wis born on 6 September 2010.
