Dolavon (Welsh: Dolafon) is a sma toun in the Patagonie province o Chubut, Argentinae. It haes a population o 2,929 accordin tae the 2001 census [INDEC]. It is locatit close tae the Chubut River, aboot 19 km tae the wast o Gaiman. The name comes frae Welsh dôl (meadae) an afon (river). Welsh immigrants began tae settle in the aurie efter their arrival in Patagonie in 1865. The Central Chubut Railwey arrivit in 1915, linkin the dounset tae Trelew, an the toun wis offeecially foondit in 1919. Dolavon became a centre o wheat production uisin irrigation canals tae compensate for the arid climate. The auld flour mill wi its watter wheel is nou a museum.
