The naitional emblem o Transnistrie is a remodeled version o the umwhile Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic emblem, that wis substitutit bi the internaitionally-recognized Moldovan govrenment efter the dissolution o the Soviet Union in 1991. The anerlie major chynge made in the Transnistrian device wis the addition o waves, representin Dniester. An aa the inscription on the red banner chynged: unlike the Moldavian SSR emblem, which bore the acronym "РССМ" (for "Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic"), the Transnistrian emblem bears the name "Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic" in Moldovan, Roushie an Ukrainian leids. In Moldovan, it is "Република Молдовеняскэ Нистрянэ" (transliteratit: "Republica Moldoveneascǎ Nistreanǎ"); in Roushie, it is "Приднестровская Молдавская Республика" (transliterated: "Pridnestrovskaya Moldavskaya Respublika"); an, in Ukrainian, it is "Придністровська Молдавська Республіка" (transliteratit: "Prydnistrovs'ka Moldavs'ka Respublika").
