Chiang Mai Province
Chiang Mai (Thai
เชียงใหม่?) is the seicont-lairgest province (changwat) o Thailand, locatit in the north o the kintra. Neighborin provinces are (frae northeast clockwise) Chiang Rai, Lampang, Lamphun, Tak, an Mae Hong Son. In the north it borders Shan State o Burma.

Chiang Mai province is aboot 700 km frae Bangkok an is situatit on the Mae Ping River basin an is 300 m abuin sea level. The river Ping, ane o the major tributaries o the Chao Phraya River, oreeginates in the Chiang Dao muntains. The heichest muntain o Thailand, the 2,565 meter heich Doi Inthanon, is locatit in the province. Several naitional pairks are in the district: Doi Inthanon, Doi Suthep-Pui, Mae Ping, Sri Lanna, Huay Nam Dang, Mae Phang, Chiang Dao.
