Central Macedonie (Greek: Περιφέρεια Κεντρικής Μακεδονίας, Periféria Kentrikís Makedonías) is ane o the thirteen regions o Greece, consistin o the central pairt o the region o Macedonia. Wi a population o ower 1.8 million, it is the seicont maist populous in Greece efter Attica.

The region wis established in the 1987 admeenistrative reform. Wi the 2010 Kallikratis plan, its pouers an authority wur redefined an extendit. Alang wi East Macedonie an Thrace, it is supervisit bi the Decentralized Admeenistration o Macedonie an Thrace which is based in Thessaloniki. The region is based at its caipital ceety o Thessaloniki an is dividit intae seiven regional units (pre-Kallikratis prefecturs), Chalkidiki, Imathia, Kilkis, Pella, Pieria, Serres an Thessaloniki. These are further subdividit intae 38 municipalities.

Although geographically pairt o central Macedonie, Munt Athos is no admeenistratively pairt o the region, but an autonomous sel-govrenin state unner the sovereignty o Greece.

The region's govrenor is, syne 1 Januar 2011, Panagiotis Psomiadis, who wis electit in the November 2010 local admeenistration elections for the New Democracy pairty.
