Castelvetrano (Sicilian: Castedduvitranu) is a toun an comune in the province o Trapani, Sicily, Italy. The archeological steid o Selinunte is locatit athin the territory of the comune. It wis the birthplace o Giovanni Gentile, the key philosopher o the Fascist muivement in Italy.
The toun is predominantly a fermin toun, wi the cultivation o vines an olive trees being the main focus. Woodwirkin (mainly furnitur) is an aw an important sector.

The main square is Piazza Garibaldi which is adorned wi mony fine biggins includin the toun's principal kirk, the Chiesa Madre, which in its present form dates back tae the 16t century. Inside the kirk are stuccoes bi Ferraro an Giacomo Serpotta.
Near the kirk is the Municipio (toun haw) an an aw close bi is the Chiesa del Purgatorio, built in 1624–64, wi its façade filled wi statues.[1]
