As o 2005, the municipality heid a total population o 6,673.[1] It covers an area of 82 km².
It is the least-Catholic municipality in Mexico’s least-Catholic state, wi anerlie 19% o residents bein Catholic, an maist bein Jehovah’s Witnesses or Baptists.[2]
