The Flag o Mongolia, 1:2

The current banner o Mongolie wis adopted on February 12, 1992. It is similar to the flag o 1949, except for the removal o the socialist star. It haes three equal, vertical bands o red (hoist side), blue, an red. Centered on the hoist-side red band in yellow is the national emblem (the Soyombo symbol - a columnar arrangement o abstract an geometric representations o fire, sun, moon, earth, water, an the Taijitu or Yin-Yang symbol).

Historical flags

Between 1945 an 1992, the flag o the Mongolian People's Republic displayed a yellow star on top o the Soyombo, symbolizing socialism.
