Atfih is a ceety in Middle Egyp, in the Cairo Govrenorate. It wis an aa pairt o the Helwan Govrenorate. Its population numbered 106,300 in 2001.
Etymology [edit]
The name is derived frae Auncient Egyptian Tpyhwt, meanin the first o the cous, referrin tae Hathor. The name became Petpeh in Coptic, frae which is derived the Arabic version Atfih (أطفيح). The ceety wis an aa kent in Greco-Roman Egyp as Aphroditopolis.
